Renowned actor Aamir Khan has commenced filming his upcoming Hindi movie, Sitaare Zameen Par, in Vadodara, Gujarat. This film is a much-anticipated sequel to his 2007 hit, Taare Zameen Par.
The shooting is taking place at the Sama Sports Complex, which has been rented to Aamir Khan by the Sports Authority of Gujarat for Rs. 1 lakh per day. The sports complex, specifically the basketball court, is reserved for six days for the film’s production. To ensure security, the film unit has arranged for a paid bandobast of nine police officers, including two Police Sub Inspectors, and additional bouncers. During the shoot, entry for visitors and staff members of the complex is prohibited, and carrying mobile phones is not allowed.
Aamir Khan arrived in Vadodara on Wednesday via a chartered flight and is staying at a hotel on Vasna-Bhayli Road. The shooting began on June 6 and will continue until June 12.
Sitaare Zameen Par is the Hindi adaptation of the Spanish sports drama Campeones (2018). The film stars Aamir Khan, Genelia Deshmukh, and Darsheel Safary. In a recent Instagram live session, Aamir Khan shared that the movie is expected to release in December this year. Unlike Taare Zameen Par, which evoked tears, Sitaare Zameen Par is designed to make audiences laugh and centers around the theme of Down Syndrome.
Fans of Aamir Khan can look forward to this heartwarming and humorous sequel, which promises to deliver another impactful story.
